New China's Tariff Law will officially be implemented on 1st December 2024 after it was adopted at the ninth meeting of the 14th National People's Congress Standing Committee. The "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Import and Export Duties" will also be abolished on the same day.

Passing the Tariff Law will maintain the stability of the current tariff tax system, improve the tariff collection management system, and align with international economic and trade rules. The Tariff Law will also clearly outline how to deal with controversial issues, clarify tax obligations and responsibilities, etc.

In this seminar, Ryan Wu, Partner, PwC China Worldtrade Management Services in Southern China and Hong Kong, will explain the highlights and major changes to the Tariff Law. He will also provide suggestions on best practices in customs compliance.
