Justin Kocher, Senior Manager, International Business Development, and Kim Fahem, Director, Hong Kong Business Development, from JobsOhio, visited the Chamber on 23 July, where they were welcomed by Prof Steve Wong, Chairman of Americas Committee.
The visitors explained that foreign investment in Ohio historically focused on automotive and manufacturing, but new investment from Hong Kong companies focused on electronics and telecommunications industries. The visitors also introduced the energy market of Ohio and possible opportunities that may be attractive to foreign investors. Prof Wong explained that many companies in Hong Kong and Mainland China are still interested in investing in the U.S. He agreed that Ohio was a potential arena to explore by Hong Kong business and raised some possible platforms that the Chamber could offer. As a first step, both sides agreed to provide members with more information on investment opportunities in Ohio.
