Nan Fung Cotton Mills, which was once part of Hong Kong's thriving textile industry back in the 1960s, has undergone a major transformation and rebranding exercise to re-emerge in 2018 as "The Mills".

The Mills, a landmark revitalization project by the Nan Fung Group, has become a powerhouse for industry innovation and serves as an incubator for a variety of up-and-coming "Techstyle" businesses which are at the intersection of technology and style. It also serves as a living lab to experiment and explore new and unique shopping experiences.

To understand how "The Mills" is paving the way for the renaissance of Hong Kong's textile industry, the Chamber is organising a visit on 6 November. Members will have the opportunity to visit the three pillars of the Mills, which are"The Mills Fabrica"- a business incubator, fund and space/lab for "Techstyle" startups and strategic partner companies; "The Mills Shopfloor" - a landmark for hands-on learning and experiential retail and "The CHAT" (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) - an art centre that promotes creative experiences through the organization of multi-faceted exhibitions and co-learning programmes.

The tentative programme is as below:

13: 45 Coach pick up at Admiralty
14: 30 Arrive at the Mills
14: 35 Introduction
15: 00 Guided tour of Fabrica, Shopfloor and CHAT
16: 00 End of programme. Depart for Hung Hom and Admiralty MTR stations

This visit is exclusively for HKGCC members. As places are limited, priority is given to corporate members with a maximum of two representatives from each member company. Additional places will be subject to availability. The Chamber and the hosting party reserve the right to reject any applications.

Notes - Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis.
- Booking transfer is allowed for corporate members with advanced notice, walk-ins are normally not accepted.
- The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued.
- No refund will be made for last minute cancellations or no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 7 days before the event, and in such cases the refund will be subjected to a 10% administration fee, or HK$100 deduction, whichever is higher.
- A $50 handling fee per person will be charged for all offline bookings (e.g. fax, e-mail, post) for all Chamber events. Go online today by downloading our app or registering on the HKGCC website to save the environment and money.
- Priority is given to corporate members. The decision to accept or decline any booking shall be at sole discretion of the Chamber.
- This event is for members only. At most 2 representatives from each member company may attend.
- Participants agree to indemnify the Chamber and the hosting party all liabilities for property damage, physical injury or death in relation to this event. Participants are advised to take their own insurance against all risks.
