Connecting to over 220 destinations, the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) served some 74.7 million passengers in 2018. HKIA is one of the leading and busiest airports in the world. To cope with the surging air traffic demand and maintain Hong Kong's position as the leading international air hub, the Airport Authority ("AA") has implemented various measures - in addition to the development of the three-runway system ("3RS") - to improve services and enhance passenger experience.
As a sequel to the 'Smart Airport' roundtable luncheon to be held on 29 May, the Chamber is organizing an exclusive visit to HKIA on 13 June. During the visit, members will learn about the latest developments of the 3RS, as well as the expansion of Terminal One and recent enhancements such as HKIA Innovation Lab under the Smart Airport concept. The visit will include a tour of the Integrated Airport Centre ("IAC") where members will be given the opportunity to experience the real-time monitoring of airport operations and understand HKIA's approach to managing contingencies.
The tentative programme is as follows:
1:45pm Depart from Admiralty by coach
2:25pm Arrive at G/F, HKIA Tower
2:30pm Tour of IAC
3:00pm Tour of Airfield and Midfield Concourse
3:20pm Briefing at Staff Lounge
4:30pm Tour of HKIA Innovation Lab
5:30pm Depart for Admiralty
The visit is for Chamber members only. Due to limited spaces, a maximum of two representatives from each member company may attend. Additional places will be subject to availability. The Chamber reserves the right to decline applications.
A participation fee of $200 per person will be charged to cover administrative costs incurred by the Chamber.
As part of the visit will take place in restricted areas of the airport, participants of this event are required to provide their full names (Chinese and English) and HKID No./Passport No. as printed on their HKIDs or passports for submission in advance to the airport authorities for the application of visit permits.
