The term "ESG" has become popular and widely adopted in the Hong Kong business community in recent years. What exactly is ESG – "Environmental, Social and Governance"? What do green loans and green financing have to do with businesses? What regulations and guidelines do the government and the HKMA have? By joining this online workshop, participants will understand the role and needs of ESG for enterprises. The speakers will also explain the preparations required before making green loans. Successful cases and the prospect of ESG development in Hong Kong will be discussed in this session.

Target audience: business owners, company directors, executives, partners, finance directors or managers, and anyone who is interested in green financing in Hong Kong.

1. What does Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) include?
2. Why more green elements are needed for the business community?
3. Does "green financing" mean easier borrowing and lower interest?
4. How do the HKSAR Government and the banking sector support for companies? What are the loan commitments?
5. What kind of companies has potential for Green and Sustainable Finance Grant Scheme (GSF Grant Scheme)? Can SME apply GSF Grant Scheme?
6. How to financially prepare for green financing? What are the disclosures and legal compliance?
7. How to non-financially prepare for green financing, e.g. business activity and supply chains?
8. Types of "Green Financing" and "Sustainability-Linked Financing"
9. What do banks pay attention to when approving loans? i.e. loan amount, loan type, term or loan purpose?
10. The verification and certification requirements for green financing, including the target assessment checklist for Sustainability-Linked Lending (SLL)
11. Case sharing and future development of ESG

Dominic Chan, Certified Public Accountant

Dominic Chan graduated from the University of Nottingham in the UK. He holds membership of several professional bodies including MSCA, FCCA, AHKSA, FCIS and FCS. Dominic has previously worked with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and possesses more than 20 years of experience in advising clients on financial, tax, and corporate management matters. As a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong and the UK, he provides counselling services on capital formation and financing, trade policy and trade remedies, along with other organizational matters.

Vincent Wong, Senior Sustainability Manager, The Bank of East Asia, Limited

Vincent Wong is mainly responsible for formulating, promoting and providing training on sustainable development of The Bank of East Asia, Limited. He has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry, mainly serving small and medium-sized enterprises. Before working in the banking industry, he worked in the marketing department of international organizations, including Toyota Crown, IKEA, etc. He has deep understanding about SMEs’ challenges and operational concerns. Vincent graduated from the University of Nottingham, UK, and obtained a Master of Marketing (Science) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was a guest lecturer of marketing courses at the Centre for Asia-Pacific Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and is one of the authors of the "Financial Health for SMEs".

Notes - Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis.
- Booking transfer is allowed for corporate members with advanced notice, walk-ins are normally not accepted.
- The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued.
- No refund will be made for last minute cancellations or no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 7 days before the event, and in such cases the refund will be subjected to a 10% administration fee, or HK$100 deduction, whichever is higher.
- Members paying with their BOC HKGCC Visa Card will enjoy a 30% discount on their reservation. The discount is only applicable to the card holder, and does not extend to their guests. The discount cannot be used in conjunction with Chamber Coupons.

- Priority is given to corporate members. The decision to accept or decline any booking shall be at sole discretion of the Chamber.
