To help members stay up to date with the latest developments in the Mainland’s aerospace technology industry, the China Committee will organise a delegation to Wenchang, Hainan, from 23 to 25 August. The visit will focus on local aerospace launch facilities, rocket assembly, and aerospace science education facilities, while participants will have the opportunity to observe the Chang’e-7 launch mission on site. The delegation will also meet with representatives of relevant aerospace research institutions to exchange views and explore avenues for cooperation within the aerospace technology industry.
In recent years, Wenchang has been actively developing into an international space city, continuously elevating its commercial launch, rocket manufacturing, testing, and supporting service systems, and steadily building an aerospace industry ecosystem centred on “rockets, satellites, and data.”
Wenchang’s aerospace industry has grown rapidly in recent years. The international commercial launch center is already in operation, while the second phase of development is advancing, including the construction of additional launch pads, rocket assembly and testing facilities, and command systems to enhance launch capability and strengthen industrial supply chain support. In addition, Chang’e-7 arrived at the Wenchang launch site in April 2026 and is scheduled for launch in August 2026, offering members with a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the nation’s aerospace missions and launch preparations.
