What's On

With cross-border market opportunities growing rapidly and the end of the Covid-19 pandemic still distant, many businesses are now looking for ways to "go out" and explore new markets and further their business beyond conventional channels.

For companies looking to sell their services and products online, Thailand's rapidly expanding e-commerce market and mature digital landscape can be an attractive destination.

The country ranks third in the world for e-commerce adoption, with 84% of its internet users having made an online purchase in the previous month. Thailand has also recorded the highest number of transactions globally through mobile banking and financial transaction apps.

This year, Thai consumers' e-commerce spending has seen a skyrocketing rise of 74% on food & personal care, and 40% fashion & beauty, and toys & hobbies, compared to 2020. All other sectors, apart from tourism, are seeing double-digit growth.

This is all thanks to the Thai Government actively promoting the "Digital Thailand" initiative and helping businesses digitize their operations and services, especially for SMEs seeking to undergo digital transformation, and promoting a transition to e-commerce amid the global pandemic.

At this webinar, Consul General of Thailand Tull Traisorat will give members an overview of Thailand's recent economic developments and share his insights on the country's rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Dr Chaichana Mitrpant, Executive Director of Thailand's Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), will talk about the new policies and changes that the Thai government is implementing to boost the country's e-commerce sector, and how members can take advantage of the country's robust online market growth.

Last but not least, Dr Narain Chutijirawong, Director of Clients and Industries at Deloitte Thailand, will explain why Thailand has achieved its success in digital transformation, and give practical advice on Hong Kong businesses can set up shop in Thailand.

Join this webinar to gain unique insights on Thailand's digital transformation and business opportunities in the e-commerce sector!
