The Retail, Culture, Sports & Tourism Committee (RCST) hosted a thought-provoking panel discussion titled "Understanding the Art Ecosystem: Hong Kong and Beyond" at the blue-chip art gallery Hauser and Wirth on 8 December. 

Moderated by RCST Vice Chairman Alan Lo, the event brought together Evelyn Lin, Chairman of Modern and Contemporary Art Asia at Sotheby’s; Lihsin Tsai, Head of Sales Asia and Senior Director at Hauser and Wirth Hong Kong; and Ida Ng, CEO of Artmove, Helu-Trans Group. 

The conversation unpacked Hong Kong's pivotal role in the global art ecosystem, its unique positioning and its contributions to contemporary art from the perspectives of auction houses, art galleries and art movers. The speakers also discussed vital market trends, the intersection of creativity and commerce, and the dynamics of cultural collaboration within the region.
