It was a pleasure to welcome a delegation from the Cebu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (CCCI) to the Chamber on 16 August for an evening of learning and networking. 

Chamber CEO Patrick Yeung and Dewan Saiful Alam, Chairman of the Asia, Africa & Middle East Committee, welcomed the 42-strong delegation led by Felix Taguiam, Past President of CCCI. The visitors were looking to expand trade and investment between Hong Kong and Cebu, with many of the delegates being in the F&B sector. 

Following an overview of Hong Kong’s economy and opportunities by our Economist Doris Fung, and an enlightening introduction to Hong Kong’s F&B sector by Sindy Wong, Head of Tourism & Hospitality, InvestHK, HKGCC and CCCI members enjoyed the rest of the evening networking. 

Many thanks to our speakers and members for ensuring our Cebu friends had a productive visit. Given the proximity and eight daily flights between Hong Kong and Cebu, maybe a reciprocal visit is on the cards.
