In today’s challenging economic environment, businesses are working hard to attract and retain talent to grow. This involves implementing global mobility and compensation policies, including long-term incentive plans, to deploy talent locally, regionally and globally.
Louis Lam, Lawrence Lui and Samuel Lai from Vialto Partners highlighted relevant tax cases during a seminar on 11 July to help companies effectively manage cross-border recruitment and evaluate practical considerations in talent mobility and remuneration policies.
They also discussed how salary tax issues can arise from talent relocation, cross-border double taxation, the taxing location of incentive awards, and dual employment arrangements to fulfil work permit requirements and minimize permanent establishment risk.
