As the curtains fell on the 2023/24 edition of the Business-school Partnership Programme, a sense of accomplishment and excitement filled the air.
The programme brought together 42 corporates and 64 schools, facilitating a diverse range of collaborative activities, from company visits and workshops to executive talks and mock interviews. These opportunities allowed students to gain invaluable real-world exposure and insights into various industries.
The annual initiative, a joint effort between the local business community and secondary schools, serves as a powerful platform to nurture Hong Kong's future talent, and the finale on 8 July was a testament to its impact.
The day began with a career-sharing session, where 46 students were grouped with nine mentors from the Young Executive Club (YEC) to explore career development and gain firsthand perspectives on navigating the professional landscape. The interactive format fostered meaningful exchanges, empowering participants to chart their own course towards fulfilling careers.
The event's highlight was the ceremony to award students for outstanding activity reports, which showcased the collaborative efforts between corporates and schools. Three groups from different schools presented their experiences and newfound knowledge, while five student ambassadors from Holy Family Canossian College, Marymount Secondary School and St. Mary's Canossian College acted as MCs and event ushers.
"This programme is not just about imparting knowledge and skills," said HKGCC CEO Patrick Yeung. “It is also about creating a bridge between the classroom and the boardroom, where young people are empowered and encouraged to dream big and make a real difference in Hong Kong and the world.”
