In collaboration with the Hong Kong Public Relations Professionals' Association (PRPA), a series of four workshops is being organized to enhance and refresh the knowledge and skills of Public Relations and Corporate Communications practitioners through experience sharing.

* Participants who attended all four workshops will be awarded a "Certificate in Applied Corporate Communication" co-issued by HKGCC & PRPA.

Join us to unlock the secrets to crafting newsworthy angles and compelling stories that attracts eyeballs and inspires action. In the era of information overload with reader behaviour changing fast, it becomes more challenging for businesses to stand out amid noise and competition and build thought leadership. Therefore, the ability to craft great stories is no longer a nice-to-have, but a key to success. This workshop, led by two distinguished media leaders from Bastille Post and SCMP, will reveal the insider tips and insights that make stories hit the headlines and drive true audience engagement.

• Rapidly changing news landscape in Hong Kong and media pitching to elevate your brand’s visibility
• Column writing that not only inform, but inspire
• Inner workings of a newsroom and what makes a good story
• Development of newsworthy angles, standout content and headlines

Learning outcomes:

2. Master storytelling tactics to create engaging and persuasive content
3. Understand the power of a newspaper column to build authenticity and thought leadership

Lo Wing-hung, Publisher, Bastille Post

Mr. Lo is a prominent media executive in Hong Kong, with over 30 years of experience in major newspaper and television stations. He was appointed Executive Director of Sing Tao News Corporation Limited in 2002 and became the Group's CEO from 2005 to 2013. Since 2013, he launched an online news portal, Bastille Post, and served as Publisher.

Mr. Lo is also the spokesperson for The Newspaper Society of Hong Kong and is an executive committee of The Hong Kong Press Council. He received the Bronze Bauhinia Star Award in 2024 in recognition of his contributions to the media industry.

Denise Tsang, News Editor, South China Morning Post

An award-winning journalist, Ms. Tsang has spent more than 20 years in the industry and specialises in macro-economic and political-economic news in Hong Kong. As well as being a team leader, writer and forum moderator, she is a coach and mentor of young reporters. She was awarded Professional Journalism Fellow by the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Notes - Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis.
- Booking transfer is allowed for corporate members with advanced notice, walk-ins are normally not accepted.
- The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued.
- No refund will be made for last minute cancellations or no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 7 days before the event, and in such cases the refund will be subjected to a 10% administration fee, or HK$100 deduction, whichever is higher.
- Members paying with their BOC HKGCC Visa Card will enjoy a 30% discount on their reservation. The discount is only applicable to the card holder, and does not extend to their guests. The discount cannot be used in conjunction with Chamber Coupons.
- A $50 handling fee per person will be charged for all offline bookings (e.g. fax, e-mail, post) for all Chamber events. Go online today by downloading our app or registering on the HKGCC website to save the environment and money.
- Priority is given to corporate members. The decision to accept or decline any booking shall be at sole discretion of the Chamber.
- Participants agree to indemnify the Chamber and the hosting party all liabilities for property damage, physical injury or death in relation to this event. Participants are advised to take their own insurance against all risks.
