Hong Kong has established itself as one of the leading global startup hubs. The number of startups has grown 42.8% to 3,184 during the past 2 years, and encouraging development of the startup ecosystem has been witnessed. While there are various funding and incubation programmes provided by the Government and other organizations to support the development of startups, startups still face a lot of challenges when getting their businesses off the ground. Hiring suitable staff, financial management, building trust with customers are just some common problems for startups. It's against this backdrop that the Chamber organizes this year's Entrepreneur Forum.
The Entrepreneur Forum will cover:
- Key opportunities and challenges for startups with a particular focus on Hong Kong and beyond (e.g. the Greater Bay Area)
- How can startups equip themselves to overcome challenges?
- Characteristics of a startup which is more likely to succeed
** The Forum will be followed by the Awards Presentation Ceremony of the HKGCC Business Case Competition. The aim of the competition is to solicit groundbreaking ideas from student innovators to push the boundaries in creating a sustainable future in Hong Kong. Teams of university students are formed and partnered with CLP, Great Eagle Group, LVMH Fashion Group, and Sino Group to bring their disruptive visions to the corporate's core business models. You are most welcome to stay after the Forum and meet the student winners.**
