Selina Chow Liang Shuk-yee GBS OBE JP, Former Member of HKSAR Legislative Council and Executive Council Selina joined as Production Assistant at 1966 and left as Assistant General Manager (Programme and Production) at TVB in 1978. She became the CEO of Commercial Television in 1979 and of Asia Television from 1988 to 1991. Selina was a Government-appointed member of the Urban Council from 1980 to 1984, of the Legislative Council from 1981 to 1995, and of the Executive Council from 1991 to 1992 and 2003 to 2008. She was appointed as a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from 2005 to 2017. She also chaired the Liberal Party previously. On the public service front, Selina chaired the Consumer Council from 1984 to 1988. Additionally, she was responsible for spearheading the change of the Hong Kong Tourist Association (HKTA) to the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). Serving as the Chairman of HKTA from 2000 to 2001 and subsequently of HKTB from 2001 to 2007, she revitalized global interest in Hong Kong as well as opening the border to Mainland tourists. |
