To support the Government's efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus, we will postpone upcoming roundtable luncheons, seminars, training programmes and networking receptions. Safeguarding public health is our top priority. We will announce the new date in due course and arrange a full refund for those who have booked. Thank you for your understanding.
Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) is on a mission to bring back homes for a wide range of species that have lost their natural habitats due to centuries of deforestation to meet demands for fuel, crops, and settlement, as well as disasters such as hill fires.
KFBG, which was previously an experimental farm and training base for farmers, launched the ambitious and large-scale Forest Restoration Project in 2013 in the hopes of revamping a plot in Tai Mo Shan to enrich species diversity and recreate an ecosystem similar to that found in a primeval forest.
Members are invited to take part in a visit to Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden that the Chamber is organising on Monday, 10 February 2020 to explore this significant and environmental-friendly project.
In addition to the reforestation plot, members will also have the opportunity of visiting KFBG's Wild Animal Rescue Centre (WARC), where injured wildlife, endangered species and animals rescued from illegal trade are treated. WARC is Hong Kong's only privately-run hospital for wild animals.
Due to limited places, priority will be given to corporate members, which will be allocated up to two places each. Additional places will be subject to availability. The Chamber and hosting party reserve the right to reject any applications.
*Casual wear and sports shoes are strongly recommended for this visit as the tour of the Forest Restoration Project involves 10 to 15-minutes of walking through undergrowth and uneven surfaces.
