According to official Government statistics, the local workforce in Hong Kong shrank by 140,000 in the first quarter of this year. To address the shortage, new initiatives were announced in the Policy Address to attract talent from around the world.

Recruitment and retention are no doubt some of the top challenges for employers. With compensation no longer the only factor to attract and retain people, unique employee benefits and perks have become common terms in employment contracts. Yet, employee needs are also different from one another. How can employers cater to these needs with the resources they already have?
