Chamber CEO George Leung volunteered at a community event on 15 December, helping to prepare 300 care packages for some of Hong Kong’s needy citizens. The packages included daily necessities such as rice, biscuits, hand sanitizers and masks, to bring some festive joy at Christmas to the recipients. These were then delivered to the SoCO centre in Sham Shui Po, where the volunteers had the opportunity to meet some of the beneficiaries in person.
This project was organized by the Chamber along with the Hong Kong Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and the Society for Community Organization (SoCO).
The Chamber’s new Chairman Peter Wong virtually “met” with members at an online seminar this afternoon. He shared his vision for the Chamber’s future and talked about what HKGCC can do for Hong Kong’s business community as a whole, including the digitalization of business platforms, forging relations with overseas chambers, and broadening the horizons for the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. He also welcomed members to share their thoughts on what the Chamber can do to help them and their businesses – in the current difficult climate and also in the longer term.
