The Chamber proudly launched the Student Associate Club (SAC) on 21 October, marking a significant milestone in our mission to nurture future talent and strengthen relationships between students and the business community.

In his opening remarks, Victor Lam, Chairman of the Young Executives Club, described SAC as a dynamic platform for students to gain real-world experience and leadership opportunities.

“Empowering young people with leadership and collaboration opportunities is an investment in Hong Kong’s future,” said Lam, underscoring the Chamber’s commitment to youth development.

Chamber Chairman Agnes Chan delivered a heartfelt congratulatory speech, reaffirming HKGCC’s longstanding commitment to youth development through initiatives such as the Business Case Competition, Pitch Perfect Programme, and Business School Partnership Programme.

“The SAC opens doors for students to learn, lead and grow – not just as individuals, but as future changemakers in our society and economy,” she said, highlighting the transformative potential of this new initiative.

The audience was also introduced to the members of the SAC Executive Committee, who shared their enthusiasm for driving engagement between students and the business sector.

SAC’s Chief Ambassador, Hayden So, captured the spirit of the launch perfectly: “Our careers span 80,000 hours, so spending even 1% of that time to find where our convictions lie is worth it. SAC aims to be the compass that helps students discover what truly matters and open doors that would otherwise remain closed.”

Opening SAC’s inaugural seminar, Dr Bernard Chan, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, set the tone for an inspiring discussion on talent development. In the panel discussion that followed, Nick Chan, Kelvin Lam, and Fanny Lau shared practical advice on how students can prepare for the evolving world of work. Their insights ranged from embracing lifelong learning to recognizing the growing importance of AI skills in shaping careers.

SAC will organize a wide range of events – from seminars to workshops and networking activities – to open doors for students and foster collaboration with business leaders. Watch this space!
