Edmond Yew, Vice Chairman of the China Committee, attended the Investment Promotion Seminar for Jiangbei District, Chongqing, on 29 May.
Tao Shixiang, District Mayor of Jiangbei District, stated that Jiangbei serves as an economically robust powerhouse within Chongqing Municipality, encompassing a diverse range of industrial categories. He also hoped to promote exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and Hong Kong. The seminar was organized by the Jiangbei Government.

China Committee Chairman Felix Lee attended “Bay Area Future City · Qingsheng New World”, a Guangzhou Nansha Qingsheng Hub Hong Kong promotion event, on 13 June.
Liu Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of Nansha District, said the purpose was to showcase the joint development platform with “Hong Kong and Macao flavour,” feature the cities’ innovative and entrepreneurial communities and their futuristic, liveable and business-friendly environments, and to enhance cooperation. The event was hosted by the Nansha Municipal Government.

China Committee members participated in the Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit 2025 on 22 May. 

Hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Beijing, the event was themed “Embracing the Era of Digital Intelligence, Collaborating for Shared Development.” National leaders at the summit emphasized the importance of mutual trust, open cooperation and inclusive global growth in their keynote addresses.

 

Chamber Vice Chairman PC Yu represented the Chamber at the Meizhou Jiaoling 2025 GBA (Hong Kong) Investment Promotion Seminar on 26 May.

The seminar highlighted the investment potential under Meizhou’s “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand” initiative, showcasing the city’s latest developments and further deepening economic and trade ties with Hong Kong and Macao.

Wendy Lo, Assistant Director of China Affairs and Projects at HKGCC, attended the preparatory meeting for the 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Business Conference on 13 June. 

Scheduled to take place in September in Guangzhou, the conference will include a series of specialized forums and inspection tours. These events are designed to showcase the successful outcomes of regional industrial planning and to advance trade, investment and economic cooperation across GBA cities.
