Revitalizing Hong Kong Tourism <br/>重振香港旅遊業

We had an insightful Town Hall Forum with Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, on 7 April.

Law said one of the key messages from the Development Blueprint for Hong Kong’s Tourism Industry 2.0 is the importance of leveraging our unique advantage of being backed by the Mainland. One example is the resumption of multiple-entry permits for Shenzhen residents to travel to Hong Kong.

She highlighted the need to explore new tourism resources and inject momentum and freshness into the city through soft power initiatives, such as mega and festive events, to attract tourists from around the world.

Hosted by the Chamber’s Retail and Tourism Committee Chairman Tammy Wu, the forum provided a platform for members to share their hopes and concerns related to the tourism industry. Law also addressed questions on a range of topics, from ways to attract long-haul visitors and revive the city’s nightlife to supporting sustainable tourism.
