The Hong Kong Awards of Industries (HKAI) culminated in an award ceremony on 16 December, with 16 companies winning recognition for breakthrough achievements under the Innovation and Creativity category organized by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.

HKAI is the city’s premier business awards scheme and is championed by the HKSAR Government. Seventy-nine winners were selected from 167 entries in five categories: upgrading and transformation, consumer product design, equipment and machinery design, customer service, and innovation and creativity.  

The Innovation and Creativity Grand Award went to Logital Co. Limited for its innovative product Savoir, the world’s smallest in-the-canal (ITC) hearing aid, developed by the Logital HK EasyHear team.

Chief Executive John Lee addressed the attendees in a video message. The officiating guests at the ceremony included Cheuk Wing-hing, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration; Maggie Wong, Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development; and Aaron Liu, Director-General of Trade and Industry.

In his speech, the Chief Executive congratulated all the winning enterprises and praised them for exemplifying the spirit of perseverance and determination characteristic of Hong Kong businesses.

He further noted that, amid rapidly evolving geopolitics and numerous uncertainties in the external economy, we were witnessing an unprecedented acceleration of global changes on a scale not seen in a century. Also, Hong Kong is navigating an economic restructuring period, presenting various challenges, particularly for SMEs.

The Government has been sparing no effort in helping SMEs accelerate the process of upgrading and transformation, digitalization and green transformation, and explore new markets. Lee encouraged the awardees, as well as other enterprises, to take the initiative to embrace changes and fully capitalize on the city’s distinctive advantages of enjoying strong support of the Motherland and being closely connected to the world, thereby driving Hong Kong to achieve high-quality development.

The 16 companies recognized under the “Innovation and Creativity” category comprised businesses from diverse industries such as technology, environmental services, public utility, construction engineering, textile and apparel, etc.
