HKGCC Chairman Agnes Chan hosted a luncheon with the Hong Kong Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry on 9 October, bringing together board members and committee chairs from both chambers.
After welcoming attendees to this long-standing tradition, Chan invited Kenichi Okada, Ambassador and Consul General of Japan, to share his insights. He highlighted that with over 1,400 Japanese companies operating in Hong Kong, it stands as the largest group of foreign companies, underscoring the significance of this market for Japan.
During the keynote address, Toshiaki Yamamoto, Chief Executive of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation’s Hong Kong Branch, discussed the latest trends among Japanese retailers and restaurants in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
Kiichiro Takanami, President of HKJCCI, expressed gratitude to Chan and all attendees, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation and collaboration in the year ahead.
