The Chamber’s Young Executives Club (YEC)hosted ballet-themed soirée at the Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel on 6 September to commemorate 10 successful years.

From the Hong Kong Ballet and the Jean M. Wong School of Ballet to the Hong Kong Youth Orchestra, guests were treated to captivating performances throughout the evening.

“What started as a small group a decade ago has grown into a club with over 450 members,” said Chamber Chairman Agnes Chan, congratulating the YEC on its many triumphs. “These achievements have not come overnight, and our members’ combined efforts have made it a success.”

Chan also spotlighted the club’s unwavering dedication to promoting the development of youth in Hong Kong. Part of the funds from the anniversary ball will go towards university scholarships and YEC’s youth development initiatives.

In his speech, guest of honour Clarence Leung, Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, said the Bureau would continue collaborating with the Chamber to help young people in Hong Kong.

Raising a toast to the club’s success, Eric Fok, Founding Member and Former YEC Chairman, lauded YEC’s significant achievements, notably the launch of the Pitch Perfect Programme in 2021. Since then, the initiative has positively impacted over 300 university students, with plans already underway for the fourth edition next year.

The evening’s entertainment included Caterpillar and Twins, two mesmerizing performances by Hong Kong Ballet; Waltz of the Hours (Coppélia), charmingly presented in a riot of colour by young students from the Jean M. Wong School of Ballet; and Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Waltz of the Flowers from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, flawlessly executed by the Hong Kong Youth Orchestra’s string quartet.

“It was such a memorable night,” said Olivia Kung, Immediate Past Chairman of YEC and Convenor of the Ball Organizing Committee. “Despite the challenges posed by a typhoon, the evening was a resounding success, thanks to the collaborative efforts of all involved.” She also expressed gratitude to all the sponsors and committee members who worked tirelessly to bring the event to life.

The night culminated in a heartwarming moment as Chamber CEO Patrick Yeung led YEC members and Pitch Perfect Programme winners in singing “Happy Birthday,” marking a decade of YEC’s impactful journey.
