As the coronavirus pandemic has entered its second year, the rollout of vaccination programmes across the world is giving us a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel. Nevertheless, uncertainty surrounding the global economy remains exceptionally high amid worries about inflationary pressures, asset bubbles and rising debt levels. These fears are due to the aggressive response that governments and central banks have taken since the onset of the pandemic. Against this background, how will the investment landscape look like this year?
Harnessing 50 years of experience as a practicing investment economist, Enzio von Pfeil will share his latest research on the global economy. He also will discuss investment strategies for protecting and growing assets in this highly unpredictable investment environment. At the end of the session, you will have an opportunity to pose questions to Dr von Pfeil.
Dr von Pfeil studied economics, under Nobel Laureate Friedrich von Hayek, at The University of Freiburg, Germany, where he obtained his PhD in 1980 and was an Assistant Professor. In London, he taught at the City University Business School as well as being a Visiting Fellow at Chatham House. He has written books on direct investment, currency risk and international trade.
