This year has been a tumultuous one for emerging economies. Confidence in investing in Argentina has dwindled as it experienced its worst drought in 30 years, the collapse of the peso, a $50 billion IMF bailout and the impact of the U.S.-China trade war.
But opportunities are also emerging for investors, especially given the pro-business economic policies of President Mauricio Macri, who took office in 2015. The extension of the Belt and Road Initiative into Latin America may also help the revival of Argentina and the country's long-term development.
What is the environment like in Argentina today? Is it a good time to invest? Are there opportunities for Hong Kong investors? What are the challenges and opportunities in Argentina amid the U.S.-China Trade War and the Belt and Road Initiative?
To answer these and other questions, Argentine Consul General in Hong Kong Gustavo Horacio Luis Fazzari, Nicolas Aguzin, Chairman and CEO for JP Morgan Asia Pacific and Diego Gieco, Managing Director for Corium Ltd., will share their insights on doing business in Argentina.
Participants will receive a gift of a bottle of Argentinian wine.
