Company Background

Lai Sun Development Company Limited is a member of the Lai Sun Group which obtained its first listing on Hong Kong Stock Exchange in late 1972. The Company was listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in 1988 following a reorganization of the Grop (Stock Code 488). The major business is development and investment of properties in Hong Kong, hotel operation and management as well as media and entertainment business. The Chairman is Dr Lam Kin Ngok, Peter and the Chief Executive Officer is Mr Lau Shu Yan, Julius. The Group employs a total of approximately 1,200 employees. As at 31 July 2012, the audited net assets and value of the Group is approximately HK$16,358 million.

Business Activities

Lai Sun Development mainly engages itself in the property development (for sales) and investment (for rental) in Hong Kong, investment in and operation of hotels and restaurants and investment holding. The Group's main project in Hong Kong offers offices, shopping arcades, carparks, and a number of acclaimed restaurants including the only Michelin 3 star Italian restaurant 8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMABANA, Michelin 1 star Japanese restaurant Wagyu Kaiseki Den; as well as other high profile restaurants such as Island Tang, Kowloon Tang and Chiu Tang. Other projects include: United Kingdom: 36 Queen Street London and Vietnam: the Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
