The successful conclusion of the eighth LegCo General Election on 7 December marks an important milestone of the city’s development towards stability and prosperity. The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) supports the new LegCo members to work with the Government in building a better Hong Kong, including the support and recovery work following the Tragic Fire in Tai Po.
Chamber Chairman Agnes Chan said: “I would like to extend my congratulations to all newly elected legislators, and we believe they are capable and committed to serving the community. The success conclusion of the election as scheduled has reflected Hong Kong’s resilience and determination to overcome difficulties.”
The Chamber would like to thank every elector who have actively exercised their civic rights by casting their vote. Looking ahead, we will continue to support the LegCo’s work to fully implement the principle of “One Country, Two Systems”, and drive reforms that are beneficial to Hong Kong’s long-term development.
