For Immediate Release
Over 100 high school students, teachers and business representatives attended the Closing Ceremony of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce’s (HKGCC) Business School Partnership Programme 2024/25 on 4 July, wrapping up a year-long programme of enlightening business-student interaction.
The flagship initiative of HKGCC, launched in 2001, gives secondary high school students exposure to the business world across a wide range of industries, empowering them to make informed career choices. Over the years, it has become a key part of the Chamber’s youth development efforts, involving thousands of students and teachers across Hong Kong.
“We are proud to see the positive growth and impact that the Business School Partnership Programme has been having in expanding students’ understanding of business, and at the same time allowing companies to learn about students’ expectations,” said HKGCC CEO Patrick Yeung. “By connecting students with businesses, we inspire curiosity, build confidence and expand knowledge among future business leaders.”
This year, around 80 secondary schools and 50 member companies participated in the programme, demonstrating a strong commitment by the business sector to engage and nurture students. A new initiative for the 2024/25 edition of the programme was that it included students from other Greater Bay Area cities for the first time, promoting cross-border exchange and allowing more students to participate.
Throughout the year, students have engaged in a variety of activities organized by HKGCC member companies, including company visits, career talks and interactive workshops. These experiences provide valuable insights into various industries and workplace cultures, enabling students to better understand the business world and the opportunities that Hong Kong’s diverse economy can offer them.
HKGCC wishes to thank all the participating schools, HKGCC member companies and mentors for their ongoing support and dedication to developing future talent.
