Champions Crowned in HKGCC Business Case Competition

For Immediate Release

Fifteen teams of university students competed in the final round of the 2024/25 HKGCC Business Case Competition, of which five were crowned the winners today (21 February). The winning teams received a one-year HKGCC student membership, internship opportunities and cash prizes.

The sixth iteration of the competition welcomed around 160 teams comprising nearly 700 students from various tertiary institutions across Hong Kong. Launched in October 2024, the multi-stage programme enabled the students to connect with business executives and refine their projects.

This year’s theme was “Shaping the Future of Businesses with Creativity and Innovation.” The five competition sponsors – Chinachem Group, Jardine Matheson, MTR Corporation Ltd, SOCAM Development Ltd, and Swire (in collaboration with HKGCC) – provided specific business cases for the students to address. Topics included tourism, sustainability, community support and the workplace environment.

The judges commended the high calibre of the students’ proposals, which made selecting a champion particularly challenging. They remarked that the collaborative efforts and lively interactions between the companies and students not only enriched the projects but also deepened mutual understanding.

Each winning team received a cash prize of HK$30,000 and an opportunity for a company internship, while the first and second runners-up were awarded HK$20,000 and HK$10,000, respectively. Following are the competition results:
