For Immediate Release
The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) welcomes the phased lifting of social restriction measures, which provides businesses with a much-needed roadmap for return to normality.
“With the scheduled easing of social restrictions to allow businesses and the community to return to normal, together with the consumption vouchers and other financial assistance programmes, we hope the economy will be able to recover as quickly as possible from this painful period,” said HKGCC Chairman Peter Wong.
The lifting of flight bans on nine countries starting 1 April and the shortening of hotel quarantine to seven days for Hong Kong residents is also a positive step forward. But the Chamber hopes, circumstances permitting, that these can be reviewed and lifted entirely as soon as possible.
“We hope the higher fully-vaccinated rate will provide the right conditions for Hong Kong to fully reopen as we are a premier international businesses hub,” added Wong.
