From AI-powered smart cities to Cloud-driven healthcare, it was exciting to glimpse China’s thriving and innovative tech scene during an exclusive visit to the Tencent headquarters in Shenzhen on 29 August.

The delegation was led by China Committee Chairman Dr. Felix Lee, Chamber CEO Patrick Yeung and Petrina Tam, Convenor of the GBA Working Group.

After exploring the Exhibition Hall, Alex Ng, President of Tencent Healthcare, discussed how Tencent Cloud is revolutionizing the healthcare sector with cutting-edge digital solutions. Jet Li, Head of Ecosystem Partnership & Channel Business, then shared insights into Tencent Cloud’s strategy in Hong Kong and Macau. Members also enjoyed live demos of advanced AI technologies – from digital humans to palm recognition. The visit offered a rare peek into Tencent’s culture of innovation, opening doors for future cross-border collaboration.
