More than 500 guests attended the Chamber’s spectacular Chinese New Year dinner on 13 February to welcome the Year of the Snake! 

Chamber Chairman Agnes Chan performed the eye-dotting ceremony with senior Hong Kong and Mainland officials, including Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Pan Yundong, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maggie Wong, Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development, Zhou Qiang, Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Department and Head of the Commerce Office and Xu Xiaolin, Deputy Director, Coordination Department, Liaison Office.

Besides a lion dance by the BOCHK Lion Dance Team, the evening featured a spirited martial arts display by children from Heng Yue Yen Long Kwon Kung Fu and a vocal performance by well-known Canto-pop singer JW (Joey Wong). There was also a fun beer-drinking contest followed by a lucky draw with a top prize of two Cathay Pacific business-class roundtrip tickets to any destination in Asia!
