美國總統特朗普稱已簽署《香港自治法案》，並簽署行政命令終止美對香港的特殊待遇。特朗普周二就中國問題發表講話，重申在中國管治下，香港不再享有高度自治，變為中國其中一個城市，因此不能再享受美國提供的特別經濟待遇，美國不再向香港出口敏感技術裝備。特朗普表示，已簽署行政命令，對損害香港高度自治的中國官員作出制裁。

中國官媒央視報道，中國國家主席習近平7月8日與俄羅斯總統普京（Vladimir Putin）通電話，習近平表示，中方願與俄方繼續堅定互相支持，堅決反對外部干涉破壞。
