What's On

The media landscape is now a hybrid of TV, radio, online platforms and social media. A single tweet can become a headline. If you are a well-known company, then there is no doubt that you will need to deal with the media. Media training is not for the media; it’s for you or any of your company’s spokespeople who communicate with the media. In this workshop you will understand how journalists operate. The journalist is not your enemy!

A media interview is a critical opportunity to land your key message with external audiences and in the workplace. It’s important to turn media interactions into opportunities. It’s essential to train spokespeople to speak with confidence and authority whilst preparing for TV and radio interviews and press conferences. Only then can you land your desired messages with clarity and skill.

Learning Outcomes:
• Tweaking your vocal toolbox to immediately improve pitch, tone and delivery to land your point. Use your voice as an instrument!
• Building good listening habits when being interviewed and increasing your emotional intelligence.
• Handling tricky questions.
• Manage pressure and nerves effectively before being on camera or in front of a microphone.
• What to ask beforehand.
• The use of sound bites and how impactful these can be to relay that all important messages.

Target audience:
The learning from this session is appropriate to anyone who deals with the media or who would like to utilise “media hacks” in the workplace to elevate their communication.
