What's On

It’s a simple fact of life that everyone communicates best in relaxed conversation, over a coffee, or out for a walk with a friend or colleague. So it follows that when presenting, when wanting people to listen and to remember, it’s best to be as close to one’s natural relaxed self as possible, to be conversational. Trouble is – besides the likelihood of being rather nervous – most people have no idea how or why a relaxed conversation works. They only know it does!

On top of that, there’s a plethora of information these days on social media on how to present well. Much of this advice – albeit well-intentioned – is not helpful. Indeed, some of it is often flawed.

Amongst all the misunderstanding as to what makes for a great presentation, there are 8 Myths that need to be exposed. This workshop will reveal what they are – and what you can do to prevent them spoiling your next presentation.

• The most common misunderstandings about how relaxed conversations work
• Why having 3 points is no longer the best approach
• The downfall of setting out to impress an audience
• The legacy left by Elisha Graves Otis

• Addressing the biggest challenge faced by all speakers

Learning Outcomes

• Notes - the value they bring – and how best to use them
• Nerves – why they’re normal and how to control them
• Timing – being fully prepared for any interruption or suddenly being asked to be ‘brief’

Target Audience
• Anyone who is looking to enhance the impact of their presentations
