Why do businesses need to care about ESG and sustainability in real estate and infrastructure now?

The global imperative for climate action, sustainability, and robust Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices is rapidly reshaping the real estate and infrastructure sectors, with Hong Kong at a pivotal juncture in achieving its 2030 carbon emission reduction targets and ultimately carbon neutrality by 2050. Beyond global trends, the city is accelerating its efforts to align with the upcoming Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited's (HKEX) climate-related disclosure requirements (effective January 2025 for all listed issuers and mandatory for large-cap constituents from January 2026) and the evolving standards from the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). These aren't just compliance requirements; they are fundamental shifts impacting valuation, financing, and market competitiveness.

Join us on 3 September for an insightful seminar where leading industry experts will delve into how these crucial trends impact the planning, development, and operation of Hong Kong's built environment. Learn how to align your businesses’ strategies with the city's ambition for a greener future, particularly in areas like energy efficiency in buildings, sustainable construction, and green infrastructure development, and how this integrates with future prospects such as the Northern Metropolis mega project and other forward-looking urban development strategies.
