 | Joan Hung, Deputy Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Transport and Logistics Bureau Ms Joan Hung is the Deputy Secretary for Transport and Logistics, overseeing policy matters relating to civil aviation and airport development. Her portfolio of responsibilities also covers the negotiation of air services agreements and supporting of the development of low-altitude economy. Joan has over 20 years of public policy experience. Prior to joining the Transport and Logistics Bureau, she worked in various policy areas including digital health, mandatory provident fund (MPF) and insurance sectors. In particular, she took part in spearheading major initiatives such as the Electronic Health Record Sharing System, COVID-19 vaccination programme, eMPF Platform and establishment of the Insurance Authority. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of British Columbia. |  | Ir Prof. Lawrence Poon, Head of Emerging Technology – Global Innovation, MTR Corporation Limited Ir Prof. Lawrence Poon stepped into the role of Head of Emerging Technology at MTRC in 2024. He spearheaded the establishment of the Office of Commercialization for Innovation and Technology (OCIT) and led the creation of the MTRC I&T funding scheme, which boasts a R&D fund to bolster in-house R&D from concept to reality. Before his MTRC tenure, Lawrence was at the helm of Innovative Technology at ASTRI and served as an advisor to the CEO. He was instrumental in founding the ‘Innovative Mind’ R&D Department, focusing on crafting a strategic technology roadmap in sync with market needs for applied R&D, and government Smart City and Smart Government initiatives. With over twenty years in R&D, academia, and engineering, Lawrence’s expertise spans emerging technologies, including electric vehicles, autonomous driving, AIoT, robotics, and intelligent materials. Lawrence’s innovation prowess has earned him 13 international awards, including Gold Medals at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions and the R&D 100 Awards—recognized as the “Oscars of Innovation.” |  | Prof Weisong Wen, Assistant Professor, Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University Weisong Wen (Member, IEEE) received a BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Information Science and Technology University (BISTU), Beijing, China, in 2015, and an MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering from the China Agricultural University, in 2017. After that, he received a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), in 2020. He was also a visiting PhD student with the Faculty of Engineering, University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) in 2018. Before joining PolyU as an Assistant Professor in 2023, he was a Research Assistant Professor at AAE of PolyU since 2021. He has published 30 SCI papers and 40 conference papers in the field of GNSS (ION GNSS+) and navigation for Robotic systems (IEEE ICRA, IEEE ITSC), such as autonomous driving vehicles. He won the innovation award from TechConnect 2021, the Best Presentation Award from the Institute of Navigation (ION) in 2020, and the First Prize in Hong Kong Section in Qianhai-Guangdong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in 2019 based on his research achievements in 3D LiDAR aided GNSS positioning for robotics navigation in urban canyons. The developed 3D LiDAR-aided GNSS positioning method has been reported by top magazines such as Inside GNSS and has attracted industry recognition with remarkable knowledge transfer. |

- Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis. - Booking transfer is allowed for corporate members with advanced notice, walk-ins are normally not accepted. - The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued. - No refund will be made for last minute cancellations or no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 3 days before the event, and in such cases the refund will be subjected to a 10% administration fee, or HK$100 deduction, whichever is higher. - A $50 handling fee per person will be charged for all offline bookings (e.g. fax, e-mail, post) for all Chamber events.
