From power supply to defence and security, and from the bottom of the ocean to aerospace, the demand for engineers is rising. To fill the engineering openings in the job market, a gender diverse and inclusive work environment is called for. To help overcome the challenges facing female employees, corporates such as CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd and Thales Hong Kong have launched a number of initiatives to promote gender diversity within the industry.

Our speakers Connie Lam, Director of Human Resources, CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd, and Doreen Lee, Head of Human Resources, Thales Hong Kong, will share their professional experience and insights on how to attract female engineering talent to join the two companies. Pascale Fung, Professor of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, will join the panel and talk about how academia can work together with the industry to promote gender balance.

Key takeaways:
- Challenges and success in setting up gender balance initiatives in corporates
- Recruit and retain female employees by reaching out to specific communities
- Current policies to create an enabling, welcoming, and equal environment for both male and female employees
- How to make opportunities and development options available to all
