Joe Ngai, Senior Partner and Chairman - Greater China, McKinsey & Company

Joe is a senior partner and chairman of McKinsey’s offices in Greater China, which comprise six offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Taipei.

Previously, Joe led McKinsey’s Financial Services and Private Equity Practices in Greater China. He has led many large-scale transformation efforts for Chinese and multinational organizations and has advised senior management on topics such as strategy, M&A, and operational transformations.

Joe is frequently quoted in top-tier media outlets such as CNBC, the Financial Times, and China Daily, as well as major local media. He is the author of numerous reports on China’s financial institutions and is coauthor of Life Insurance in Asia: Sustaining Growth in the Next Decade (Wiley, September 2012), which offers a comprehensive look at the challenges and opportunities facing insurers across Asia. Joe speaks frequently at major international forums on a range of topics including The Next China, financial services, leadership and management, and social enterprises.

Joe is passionate about social enterprise and education. He is chairman of DiamondCab, an award-winning social enterprise that provides taxi services to people with physical disabilities; president of Phillips Exeter Academy Association of Hong Kong; a director of the Diocesan Boys’ School Foundation; and a director and former president of the Harvard Business School Association of Hong Kong.

Recognized for his influence, Joe was named one of the 2023 and 2024 “Forbes China 100 Most Influential Chinese" and was honored as one of the "2022 CEOs of the Year for Multinational Corporations in China" by Jiemian News. He is also appointed as a Justice of Peace by the Hong Kong Government.

Notes - Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis.
- Booking transfer is allowed for corporate members with advanced notice, walk-ins are normally not accepted.
- The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued.
- No refund will be made for last minute cancellations or no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 3 days before the event, and in such cases the refund will be subjected to a 10% administration fee, or HK$100 deduction, whichever is higher.

- Priority is given to corporate members. The decision to accept or decline any booking shall be at sole discretion of the Chamber.
