Kevin Ching, Chairman, Christie's Asia

Based in Hong Kong, Kevin Ching has served as Chairman of Christie’s Asia since May 2023. With a wealth of experience in the art and luxury industry in Asia and an exceptional network, Kevin plays an instrumental role in deepening and expanding Christie’s client relationships across the region as a member of Christie’s global Executive Management Group. He also collaborates with colleagues internationally to cultivate Asian collecting in Christie’s salerooms worldwide.

Following Kevin’s appointment, Christie's Hong Kong presented a dedicated singleowner sale in November 2023, The Tianminlou Collection, featuring 15 exceptional pieces from one of the world’s most esteemed collections of Chinese porcelain. The dedicated auction achieved a remarkable sale total of HK$260,440,000 / US$33,550,532. Christie’s was also entrusted with the legendary Au Bak Ling Collection, which will be presented in the upcoming inaugural sale at the Henderson, showcasing one of the most comprehensive private collections of Chinese ceramics.

Kevin has over 17 years of extensive experience in strategic business planning and client development in Asia. In his previous role as Sotheby’s Chief Executive Officer in Asia from 2006 to 2021, he was responsible for the auction house’s strategic expansion in the region, particularly into Mainland China.

Before joining the auction industry, Kevin was a board executive director and group legal counsel at Dickson Concepts (International) Limited, where he managed legal and business affairs in luxury fashion. Prior to this, he was a partner at Johnson Stokes & Master, while serving as the Chief Representative of its Beijing Office.

Kevin was educated in both Hong Kong and England, and holds a master’s degree in law from London University. He studied English law, Soviet law, Air and Space law as well as Customary and Modern Chinese law. In Addition to Hong Kong, he is also qualified to practise law in Singapore, England and Wales, as well as Victoria, Australia.

Notes - Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis.
- Booking transfer is allowed for corporate members with advanced notice, walk-ins are normally not accepted.
- The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued.
- No refund will be made for last minute cancellations or no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 3 days before the event, and in such cases the refund will be subjected to a 10% administration fee, or HK$100 deduction, whichever is higher.
- A $50 handling fee per person will be charged for all offline bookings (e.g. fax, e-mail, post) for all Chamber events. Go online today by downloading our app or registering on the HKGCC website to save the environment and money.
- Priority is given to corporate members. The decision to accept or decline any booking shall be at sole discretion of the Chamber.
