Mainland China has recently introduced a series of tax reforms. Besides the new Individual Income Tax law, the Value-Added Tax (VAT) reform has also made changes that are certainly worth the business community's attention, including reduction of tax costs and certain other beneficial treatments.

The Chamber is delighted to have two experts from EY -- Jane Hui, Partner, Transaction Tax and Leader of China Tax Centre; and Richard Lin, Senior Manager of Indirect Tax -- to discuss the recent VAT policy update, the newly introduced preferential treatments, as well as the relevant management and compliance requirements, at a roundtable luncheon on 28 May.

On top of the news on VAT, Hui and Lin will also update members on some recent rules on Corporate Income Tax that will affect cross-border transactions like dividend deferral and non-resident tax compliance matters, and will provide practical tips and insights on dealing with these new changes.

Jane Hui is a Transaction Tax Partner and Leader of the China Tax Center at EY. She has been engaged in M&A tax consulting services for many years and has extensive experience in various fields including tax due diligence, tax and corporate re-structuring advice, and joint venture negotiations with enterprises. She is also the technical leader for the China tax practice in EY taking care of China tax technical matters.

Richard Lin
Richard Lin is a Senior Manager of Indirect Tax at EY. He has extensive experiences in advising multinational companies in both VAT and Customs issues including VAT pilot conversion and implementation, VAT process establishment, indirect tax compliance review and audit defense, customs valuation advisory.

Notes - Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis.
- Booking transfer is allowed for corporate members with advanced notice, walk-ins are normally not accepted.
- The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued.
- No refund will be made for last minute cancellations or no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 3 days before the event, and in such cases the refund will be subjected to a 10% administration fee, or HK$100 deduction, whichever is higher.
