What's On

Pakistan has experienced remarkable economic development in recent years, even outrunning many Asian countries. With the Mainland seeing Pakistan as a key player in driving the success of the Belt and Road initiative, several major projects are underway in the country.

The Belt and Road Initiative has created new opportunities for investors in Pakistan. The construction of the 3,218 kilometer China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a flagship project of the Belt and Road initiative, has been called a game-changer in South Asia and has attracted around US$50 billion investments so far. But beyond mega projects, what opportunities exist for investors and businesspeople in Pakistan? What is the investment environment like? Are there any opportunities for Hong Kong investors on the Belt and Road projects? How are foreign investors succeeding in Pakistan?

To answer these and other questions, Pakistan's Consul General in Hong Kong, Abdul Qadir Memon, will introduce the country, business environment and what Hong Kong companies should be looking at when considering doing business in Pakistan. Private sector experts who are doing business in Pakistan will also share their expertise in doing business in the country.
