Hong Kong's port has long been a key contributing factor to our economic success due to its world-class efficiency and strategic location for Far East trade routes. The Chamber will visit one of the major container port operators, Hongkong International Terminals (HIT), to have firsthand look at one of the world's most advanced and efficient container terminal operations, showcasing Hong Kong's leading role in global maritime trade.
Situated in the Kwai Tsing container port area of Hong Kong - one of the busiest container ports in the world - HIT operates twelve berths at Terminals 4, 6, 7 and 9 North. HIT is a member of HPH Trust, the world's first container port business trust listed in Singapore. HIT is also a part of Hutchison Ports' global network of port and logistics operations, and continues to have access to services and resources enjoyed by companies within the Hutchison Ports Group.
The visit will include a briefing at HIT's visitor centre and a tour of its remote operations centre.
