Decarbonising Hong Kong 2050: Corporate Best Practices to Achieve Net Zero
Climate and sustainability experts from Arup, Dr Tony Lam and Dr Homan Wong, spoke about the challenges of corporate decarbonisation at a Chamber seminar on 18 October. They suggested adopting science-based methods to mitigate climate-induced risks, as well as promote sustainability in a corporate setting as the world races to reach net zero by 2050. Their presentation was followed by a panel discussion with Gill Meller from MTR, Suzanne Cheung from Swire Coca-Cola HK, and Dennis Wong from HKT, who shared industry-specific challenges in driving climate-resilient best practices.
The seminar was presided over by Dr Cary Chan, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Green Building Council, and the panel session was moderated by Dr Bruce Chong, East Asia Climate Change, Urban Sustainability & Smart City Director from Arup.
This is the fourth in a series of seminars on ‘Decarbonising Hong Kong 2050’, which focuses on how the government, businesses and communities are working towards Hong Kong's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
