Visit to Modern Terminals Ltd
Members visited Modern Terminals on 24 May to learn about their transformative initiatives to create a “Smart and Green Port,” from digitalization projects to capacity enhancements.
Led by former Shipping & Transport Committee Chairman Kenneth Bell, the tour offered a glimpse of the company’s various projects, including the adoption of renewable energy sources such as hydrotreated vegetable oil and solar panels. Excitingly, they're already testing electric vehicles and electric container stackers.
Participants also had interesting discussions about the advancements and challenges in the maritime and port industry with Horace Lo, Modern Terminals Group Managing Director and newly elected Vice Chairman of Shipping & Transport Committee, Chief Commercial Officer Frank Jensen and Head of Corporate Affairs Elin Wong.
