China's Connected Consumers: Insights from a 2015 Survey

KPMG released a survey, titled “China's Connected Consumers”, of the e-commerce market and online spending in China conducted in partnership with Mei.com and Weibo recently. This new report analysed responses from 10,150 luxury consumers in China on their online spending patterns. Anson Bailey, Partner of Business Development from KPMG China, shared his insights on China’s growing e-commerce at Chamber’s luncheon on 19 January. He explained innovation is indispensable for e-commerce’s future development, and introduced several innovative companies to the members. Angus Wong, Strategic Management Director of International Business Unit, SF Group, and Alexis Zirah, Co-Founder of Luxify.com, also joined the luncheon and shared their industry experience with the members.

Public Private Partnerships in China

Opportunities & Tax Issues Under China 12th FYP

The National People’s Congress of China approved the 12th Five Year Plan in March 2011, laying out the blueprint for the country’s development from 2011 to 2015. The Chinese government is currently formulating new tax policies based on the broad themes outlined in the 12th FYP. Christopher Xing, Tax Partner of KPMG China, spoke on what businesses might expect to see emerge as part of China’s tax policy as well as the implications for Hong Kong from the foreign investors’ perspective.
