The Committee visited The BASE, an innovation hub dedicated to supporting startups, on 3 December. Cyrus Choi, Assistant Director of the HKUST Entrepreneurship Centre, briefed members on The BASE’s development, from inception to its current role as a dynamic platform for entrepreneurial growth.  

Following the visit, four winning teams from the HKUST-SINO One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition 2025 and the Platinum Awardee for 2024 showcased their groundbreaking projects. Their innovative, cutting-edge ideas addressed pressing global challenges including pest control, extreme weather forecasting, solar-powered desalination, energy-efficient power systems and smart dental care.
