During a committee meeting on 19 September, Michael Moriarty, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland, shared innovative strategies for diversifying revenue streams beyond traditional theme park admissions. These include enhancing retail and dining offerings and novel hospitality products.
Shedding light on the evolving preferences of modern-day guests towards experiential tourism, particularly in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, he explained how Hong Kong Disneyland has adapted to shifting preferences by deploying tailored approaches such as personalization and customization. These strategies have been instrumental in crafting a distinctive and world-class tourist experience for visitors in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
The recent launch of “World of Frozen” has set social media abuzz with excitement and engagement. Coupled with Disneyland’s customer-centric strategies honed over the years, it has significantly boosted the park’s financial performance in the fiscal year 2023. By emphasizing the creation of lasting memories and fostering deep “Disney bonding,” the introduction of personalized and localized merchandise has spurred visitor interaction. It has also elevated the overall experience, contributing to the remarkable success of Hong Kong Disneyland.
