David Peyman, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Counter Threat Finance and Sanctions, visited the Chamber on 29 May to increase awareness of US sanctions against Iran and North Korea. HKGCC’s CSI Committee Chairman Mark Michelson chaired the meeting, and members had a useful exchange with Peyman. He advised businesses to ask specific questions to their customers, such as “Do you have or have ever had any relationship, directly or directly with Iran?” He also advised businesses get their customers to sign legally-binding agreements to protect themselves.
