The Retail & Tourism Committee welcomed the New Year at L’hotel Island South on 23 January. Committee Chairman Sylvia Chung said that she hoped the completion of recent transport mega projects, such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Express Rail Link, will boost both the tourism and retail sectors and help the city to cope with any challenges that lie ahead. More than 50 members spent an enjoyable evening networking and mingling with old and new friends to explore cooperation opportunities. L’Hotel Island South is an example of innovation in Hong Kong’s tourism sector. It is the first of two “geopark hotels” in the city, which support Unesco’s Global Geoparks movement to promote the conversation of nature and cultural heritage.
